New bills concerning the reorganization of the Jewish communities in the Republic of Lithuania and to afford a measure of relief to Jewish merchants from the compulsory Sunday observance law are being prepared by the Ministry of the Interior, according to a statement issued by the Minister of the Interior to press representatives.
It is doubtful, however, whether these bills will be submitted at the present session of the Sejm he stated.
The official in charge of the Jewish communal affairs in the Ministry of the Interior, a member of the Agudath Israel, was freed from his duties in the Ministry and the office was abolished.
