A Lithuanian refugee was convicted here for mailing anti-Semitic hate literature to Jews throughout the country, and fined $200. Judge Hyman Feldman, in the East Chicago Police Court, found the man, Joseph Dilys, guilty although Federal postal inspectors could not prosecute him. Technically, he had not violated postal regulations.
In sending his hate literature, the court was told by Police Sergeant Louis Swee, the man used the return address of a Chicago physician. Judge Feldman held that Dilys was trying to defame the doctor, and found him guilty on that count.
