The Jewish economic organisations in Poland are urged by the Jewish press to make urgent representations to the authorities against the prohibition of street trading, which has just been decided upon on the request of the Federation of Polish merchants, anxious to eliminate the competition of the street traders. About 4,000 families, most of them Jewish, will be deprived of their livelihood if the prohibition is enforced, the papers says.
