A lively debate on the Palestine issue at the forthcoming annual meeting of the British Labor Party which is scheduled to open at Margate May 26 was foreshadowed here today with the publication of proposed resolutions. Included among them are demands for the abrogation of the White Paper, ending of land purchase restrictions and surrender of the Palestine Mandate to the United Nations.
While four resolutions calling for reaffirmation of the Labor Party’s pre-election program on Palestine have been submitted by delegates from areas with a large Jewish population such as London’s East End, Manchester and Leeds and the Labor Zionist Party, two other resolutions contain no criticism of Britain’s policy in Palestine–although they also ask for the surrender of the Mandate.
