The Exchange Telegraph Agency reported today that Arab leaders decided to issue a proclamation within the next few days calling off the nineteen-week-old Arab general strike in Palestine.
The decision came after assurances were received from Nuri Pasha es-Said, Foreign Minister of Iraq, that the British government would halt Jewish immigration when violence ceases, the despatch said.
The Daily Telegraph reported from Jerusalem that Arab leaders had issued a proclamation calling off the strike following assurances by Iraq’s Foreign Minister, that the Government would consider Arab demands sympathetically.
According the this report, Arabs are expected to return to work Sunday in obedience to the proclamation.
