Outlining the attitude of the American Jewish Committee towards the Palestine question, Jacob Blaustein, head of the Committee’s delegation at the meeting of Jewish representatives from various countries which is now being held here, today told a press conference that his organization will insist on the fulfillment of President Truman’s request for the admission of 100,000 Jews from Europe to Palestine.

The conference was also addressed by Leonard Stein, president of the Anglo-Jewish Association. Both Blaustein and Stein emphasized that the meeting here does not intend to establish an overall organization, since the problems of the Jews in different countries vary and can, therefore, be dealt with best by the local Jewish communities. At the same time, they pointed out that the conference will try to reach an agreement regarding the principles on the basis of which the major problems of Jewish rehabilitation are to be solved.
