A 22-year-old London police constable, Clifford Alexander Weallans, today was accused of setting fires to two factories and causing damage of over $25,000, which he was alleged to have started to get “revenge on Jews.”
Weallans was charged with having admitted that “altogether I have set 11 other fires, I set these all for the seame reason–to get my own back on the Jews. I saw ?any bad things done to our blokes in Palestine, and I wanted to even things up.” Police stated that all the fires were set in East London districts.Weallans was remanded in custody until May 26.
