Field Marshal Lord Gort, who resigned as High Commissioner for Palestine last November, after serving in that post for little over a year, died today, Lord Gort’s resignation was regretted by the Jews of Palestine, who had found him cooperative. At the time he quit, it was reported that he disagreed with British policy in Palestine.
