West Coast supporters of the Histadrut, Israel’s Labor Federation, pledged $1,000,000 to the 1965 Histadrut campaign in this country, Dr. Sol Stein, director of the drive, reported today. The quota was voted by 2,000 delegates at the 42nd annual West Coast conference of the National Committee for Labor Israel. Julius Fligelman was reelected Pacific Coast president of the campaign.
Dr. Leon Keyserling, president of the Conference on Economic Progress, called Israel “the greatest society” in human history “because it is an example to the rest of the world” for its “excellence with the little that it has.” He said “mankind can learn from Israel the basic language of humanity.”
