Thousands of dollars were added here to the fund of the United Jewish Appeal, which is cooperating with the Joint Distribution Committee and the Jewish Agency for Palestine for the relief of Jews in Germany, following an address by Lewis Browne before six thousand in the Shrine Auditorium.
The author of “This Believing World” called upon his audience to boycott German goods in order to bring “the Hitlerite madmen” to their senses.
Mr. Browne, who was in Berlin six weeks ago, graphically described the intrigue prevalent in Germany. Jews are forced to proclaim in public that there are no atrocities, he said. Their private conversations belie these assertions, however. Mr. Browne stated that all Jews are closely watched by Brown Shi# agents, and on the slightest provocation are thrown in jail.
