The United Jewish Appeal officially got under way here this week with an announcement that a total of $2,000,000 had already been raised in advance. This year’s goal for Los Angeles is $6,110,000. The goal for the Special Survival Fund is $1,410,000.
A series of meetings this month is expected to bring the campaign beyond the half-way mark. “Los Angeles is confident that it will collect not only the funds earmarked for the regular campaign but will fulfill the pledge made on behalf of the Special Fund,” William W. Bruck, campaign chairman, declared.
