Louis J. Moss and Mrs. Samuel Spiegel, both of New York, were re-elected today as presidents of the United Synagogue of America and the Synagogue’s Women’s League at the organizations’ respective conventions here.

Mayor Edward J. Kelly of Chicago, addressing the women’s meeting, urged cooperation between Christian and Jew in the wider field of the humanities and of democracy, which, he said, are the essence of the American Constitution.

At a convention banquet last night, Rabbi Solomon Goldman deplored the secularization of American Jewry. He said the synagogue could feed the American Jewish Committee, the American Jewish Congress and B’nai B’rith with manpower, but should the synagogue die — which, he said, would be as tragic as Hitlerism — these organizations could not supply manpower to the synagogue.
