A $5 million fund for Jewish education abroad will be named in memory of the late Louis Pincus, chairman of the Jewish Agency and World Zionist Organization Executives, who initiated the project, it was announced here. Contributions to the fund will come from the Israeli government, the Jewish Agency and the Joint Distribution Committee.
The Pincus Fund will be headed by Max Fisher of Detroit, chairman of the Jewish Agency Board of Governors. Moshe Krone will serve as deputy chairman of the Fund which is scheduled to commence its activities next spring. Other members of the Fund’s Council are Leon Dulzin, acting chairman of the Jewish Agency and WZO Executives and Jewish Agency treasurer; Haim Finkelstein; and Jack D. Weiler and Samuel Haber of the JDC, Haim Zohar will serve as coordinator.
