Love of Eretz Israel is the sole reason of the Ceror Rebbe’s pilgrimage to Palestine, some of the members of his entourage in closest touch with the Rabbi declared to the J.T.A. here to-day, when they arrived in Jerusalem to make arrangements for the Rabbi’s arrival in the Foly City from Faifa. The Rabbi is expected to arrive in Jerusalem on Monday.
During his last visit to Palestine, the Gerer Rebbe acquired property in Palestine on which he proposes to establish a Hassidic town near Tel Aviv. On his present visit, it is stated, the Gerer Rebbe contemplates investing in orange plantations.
The Rabbi, who is now in Haifa, has maintained strict silence with regard to the object of his visit, and has taken no part in any receptions and has not replied to any callers, preserving a day of silence, such as that observed by Gandhi.
