One hundred senior rabbinical students of the Lubavitcher Yeshiva left New York today on their annual mission of spreading “Torah Judaism” to hundreds of communities across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The mission is part of the Lubavitch summer “peace corps” program now in its 23rd year. Students will also visit communities in Colombia, Venezuela and Ecuador. The participants, aged 17-24, volunteer three or four weeks of their vacation to making contact with local Jews. They distribute Lubavitch literature, gather facts on the quality of local Jewish life and offer help in matters of Jewish education or in any personal or communal matter.
