The United Lubavitcher Yeshivoth, sponsor of a network of Jewish orthodox day schools in the United States, announced today the establishment of an Emergency Rescue Committee to raise $200,000 “to prevent the closing of its doors to many students. “
Rabbi S. Courary, chairman of the organization’s executive committee, said that teachers had not been paid for more than two months and the institution was “threatened with a veritable collapse” if the $200, 000 deficit was not met promptly.
