A call to American Jewry to do “its utmost to promote traditional Jewish religious education” was made here at the annual dinner of the United Lubavitcher Yeshivoth by the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Joseph I. Schneerson.
A message from President Truman to the dinner voiced the hope that the “academes maintained by the United Lubavitcher Yeshivoth will continue to inspire Jewish youth with those lofty ideals that make for good citizenship.” Messages of greetings were also received from Governor Thomas E. Dewey, Mayor William 0’Dwyer and several U.S. Senators and Representatives. The dinner was arranged in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Morgenstern.
