A testimonial luncheon is to be tendered to Dr. Abraham Lefkowitz, first assistant at the High School of Commerce and legislative representative of the Teachers Union, at the Hotel Commodore on November 24, it was announced yesterday.
Dr. Lefkowitz’s fiftieth birthday is being made the occasion of “a public recognition of his outstanding services to education and social and civic welfare.” The sponsors’ list includes President George J. Ryan of the Board of Education, Norman Thomas and Dr. John Dewey.
