A new German protest against Mayor LaGuardia’s attacks on Hitler loomed today as Ambassador Hans Luther obtained an appointment with Secretary of State Cordell Hull. The Mayor’s characterization of the German Fuehrer as not “satisfaktionsfaehig” appeared to be the basis for the renewed representations.

The House of Representatives heard the Nazis termed “a gang of Fascist ruffians, gangsters and murderers” by John T. Bernard, Farmer-Laborite, of Minnesota, who endorsed the Mayor’s characterization of Hitler as “brown-shirted fanatic.”

Mr. Bernard mildly criticized Secretary Hull for expressing regrets to the German Government over Mayor LaGuardia’s last attack and recounted the Nazi “insults to the American people.” His anti-Nazi attack came during a speech on the neutrality bill.
