A resolution pledging the aid of the Lutheran Church in the preservation of Jewish liberties was adopted here at the biennial convention of the United Lutheran Church of America.
The resolution said the church viewed “with concern the manifestations of a rising tide of anti-Semitism in American life,” and urged its members “to consider their Jewish brethren in the spirit of Luther who spoke kindly things of them as ‘blood brothers of our Lord’ to use every available means to assure the Jewish people of their communities of the efforts of our church for the preservation of their rights; and to offer prayers on their behalf.”
