Luxembourg’s grand duke and grand duchess were guests of honor at a 50th anniversary ceremony for the country’s main synagogue. The Rue Monterey Synagogue, where the Oct. 23 ceremony was held, was built in 1953 to replace Luxembourg City’s main synagogue, which was destroyed by the Nazis in 1943.
