The “Jim Crow” system was officially decreed for Jewish students today by the rector of the Politechnic Institute.
The entire Jewish student body walked out in protest against the order which would oblige them to occupy seats in segregated sections of the classrooms. Before walking out of their classes, Jewish student leaders voiced formal protest against the illegal discrimination and insults to their honor.
Following recent anti-Jewish attacks by Endek students, members of the anti-Semitic Nationalist Democratic party, the institute was closed for several days. Prior to its reopening, the Endek students demanded institution of the “Jim Crow” system.
