The Labor Zionist Movement began its election campaign for delegates to the 28th World Zionist Congress which opens in Jerusalem next January. Israel Stolarsky, chairman of the LZM election committee declared that the movement “will continue, unstintingly to support Israel, especially its labor and pioneering movements which have been mainly responsible for its historic achievements in the areas of social justice and human progress and have provided the dynamic leadership of the State of Israel since its establishment.” The seven Labor Zionist groups comprising the Movement are Poale Zion, Pioneer Women, Farband, Friends of Labor Israel, American Habonim Association, Habonim and Dror. Stolarsky cited statements by high ranking Israel government leaders of the Labor Party, including Deputy Premier Yigal Allon and Foreign Minister Abba Eban, in support of the LZM’s election slate.
