Members of Parliament, meeting here last night with 300 Jewish women representing Zionist and other organizations, expressed the hope that the House of Commons would not rush into a decision on the complicated Palestine controversy during the present serious international situation. Dr. Edith Summerskill, Laborite M.P., who presided, declared on behalf of many members of all parties that she deeply resented any departure from the British promises to the Jews and hoped the Jews would resist any proposals violating the Balfour Declaration and the mandate.
