Gifts totalling practically his entire estate were left by the late M. Samuel Stern, vice-president of the New York Board of Education, to charitable organizations, principally Jewish, in his will filed for probate Friday. Mr. Stern died on August 28.
Among the bequests are $75,000 to the Trudeau Sanatarium for the erection of a hospital for the care of consumptives. Gifts ranging from $5,000 to $40,000 will go to New York Jewish institutions. One bequest of $20,000 is made to St. Vincent’s Hospital in the name of Dr. and Mrs. William J. O’Shea. Dr. O’Shea is Superintendent of the New York schools.
