The third annual Maccabaean Festival, in celebration of the Feast of Lights, will be held at Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening, December 24th, under the auspices of the New York Zionist Region, former Congressman William W. Cohen, Honorary Chairman of the Patrons Committee, has announced.
Abraham F. Wechsler has been elected Chairman of the Festival.
One of the features of the evening will be the lighting of the Chanukah candles, the first time this has ever been done in Madison Square Garden, by Cantor Josef Rosenblatt and a choir of twenty-five picked voices. Harry Hershfield is Chairman of the Arrangements Committee.
