The Maccabees of Palestine, all-Jewish star soccer aggregation, which arrived in this country on the Acquitania last Friday, was officially welcomed to the United States yesterday at noon by Mayor Walker of New York.

The Maccabee delegation is composed of nineteen men, seventeen of whom are players. The two officials are Dr. Chaim Weisberg and Shlomo Pelley, respectively president and vice-president of the Maccabee organization.

At the reception accorded the Jewish players at City Hall Dr. Weisberg delivered to Mayor Walker a letter from the Mayor of Jerusalem introducing the players. Dr. Weisberg thanked the mayor for the generous interest which Americans. Jews and non-Jews, have taken in the extended tour of his organization, and also thanked Mr. Walker for his repeated endorsement of Palestine reconstruction work as carried on by the Zionist organization. Dr. Weisberg declared that the youth of Palestine appreciates what is being done for their country by Americans.
