The National Community Relations Advisory Council today announced that the MacIver Report on the Jewish Community Relations Agencies is to be published in book form tomorrow. The report will include the full text of the recommendations submitted by Professor Robert M. MacIver, who was commissioned to study the work of Jewish groups engaged in fighting anti-Semitism in this country.
Until the N.C.R.A.C. plenary session acted on the report last November, it was treated as confidential. Its publication at this time marks the first general release of all the basic documents of a study which was conducted under the direction of a Special Committee on Evaluative Studies of the N.C.R.A.C. over a period of more than a year.
Participating in the study process, in addition to the N.C.R.A.C. agencies, was the Large City Budgeting Conference, an association of the welfare funds in the largest cities. N.C.R.A.C. constituents include the American Jewish Committee, American Jewish Congress, Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith, Jewish Labor Committee, Jewish War Veterans of the United States, Union of American Hebrew Congregations and twenty-seven regional, state, and local Jewish councils throughout the country.
