Mailamm, the organization to promote Jewish music in Palestine, will give a reception and concert in honor of Ossip Gabrilowitsch, pionist and conductor, on Saturday, January 27. The reception to be held at the Jewish Club, Park Royal Hotel, 23 W. 73rd Street, marks the completion of two years of activity by Mailamm, during which time the organization has contributed to the support of the Palestine Institute of Musical Sciences in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
Joseph Achron, associate chairman of the music committee, arranged the concert. Honorary members of the music committee are Mischa Elman, Ernest Bloch, Arnold Schoenberg, Rubin Goldmark, George Gershwin, Louis Gruenberg, Aaron Copeland, A. W. Binder and Joseph Yasser.
On the reception committee are Bernard S. Deutsch, Judge Jonah Goldstein, Dr. Louis I. Newman, Mrs. Rebecca Kohut, Mrs. Edward Jacobs, Professor and Mrs. Richard Gottheill, Dr. Leopold Glushak, Sidney Matz, Laurence Levine and Dr. David de Sola Pool.
