Major Jewish organizations here agreed at a meeting last night to accept an apology from Mayor Lode Grayebeck for an incident earlier this month, in which he allegedly unloosed a stream of anti-Semitic insults at two men when he learned they were Jews.
The apology was expressed by the Mayor in an open letter to the Antwerp press. The Jewish organizations agreed to consider the incident closed. However, other Jewish organizations and former Nazi camp inmates continued to express indignation over the incident.
