The Legislature of the province of Manitoba has adopted a resolution favoring the admission of refugees into Canada. The resolution reads:
“Realizing our responsibility in common humanity to relieve the suffering and distress of victims of Nazi terror this House urgently recommends that the Government of Canada; 1. Offer sanctuary for the duration of the war, in Canada, to refugees from political or religious persecution without regard to race, creed or financial condition 2. Take immediate steps to facilitate the entry into Canada of refugees, especially those stranded in Portugal, whom it is still possible to rescue.”
