Many Jewish Authorities to Address International Congress of Orientalists

Many famous Jewish authorities will deliver addresses at the Eighteenth International Congress of Orientalists which will be opened at Leyden on Monday, September 7th., including Professor Silvain Levi, who is President of the Alliance Israelite, Dr. David Yellin, of Jerusalem, Chief Rabbi Professor Schorr of Warsaw, Professor J. Birnbaum, of Hamburg University (who will speak on “Hebrew and Yiddish”), Dr. Herbert Loewe, of Oxford University, Rabbi Dr. S. Daiches, Dr. S. Kraus, of Vienna, Dr. Gottheil of New York, Professor Zeitlin of Philadelphia, Dr. Kohut of New York and Professor Speiser of Jerusalem.

Professor Albright, who did a great deal of important excavation work in Palestine, will also speak at the Congress, on “Exilic and Post-Exilic Judah in the Light of Palestinian Archeology”.
