A large number of Jewish communities in Germany are on the verge of liquidation, according to the Juedische Wohlfahrtpflege und Sozialpolitik, organ of the economic relief department of the Reich Representation of Jews in Germany.
Only 350 of the 1,500 Jewish communities have more than 100 members, the paper states. Only about 80 communities have more than 500 members, including six with a membership of more than 10,000. In these six almost 60 per cent of Germany’s Jewish population is concentrated.
