Messages of condolence poured in today on the offices of the Jewish Colonization Association on the death in England Sunday of its president, Sir Osmond d’Avigdor Goldsmid. They came from all parts of the world, including the United States, the Argentine, Brazil, the Balkan states and many other countries.
In a statement to the J.T.A., Louis Oungre, managing director of the American Joint Reconstruction Foundation and the closest collaborator of Sir Osmond in the work of the ICA and the Foundation, said his loss was a “cruel blow to Judaism and to the great number of works which have benefited by his collaboration.”
