The Connecticut Federation of Women’s Clubs convention was told yesterday by Mrs. John L. Whitehurst, vice-president of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, that many women inside and outside the federation had told her they favored dictatorship. Mrs. Whitehurst quoted one woman as saying she had filled her heart with love of Hitler in order not to fear war. “You are blind, apathetic, doing nothing constructive about challenges democracy is facing today,” she said.
