The central office of the Mapai Party today ordered the suspension of all members of the break-away Israel Workers’ List, headed by former premier David Ben-Gurion, from all local branches of the party.
According to directives issued by Arien Eliav, head of Mapai’s organization department, the branches were ordered to act immediately in carrying out the suspensions.
The decision of the Mapai Court of Honor on whether Mr. Ben-Gurion and three leaders of his faction are to be formally expelled from the party was expected to be handed down tomorrow.
