The central council of the Mapam Party today approved the visit of a Mapam delegate to Berlin to attend a Communist-sponsored International Trade Union conference some months ago. The vote, which came after a stormy debate, was 60 to 45, with the Hashomer Hatzair faction outvoting the combined L’Achdut Avoda and Poale Zion sections.
A resolution by the Hashomer Hatzair–and strongly supported by Dr. Moshe Sneh, Mapam leader–asking for solidarity with the Egyptians in their struggle against the British was withdrawn following strong objections to the proposal.
