The Women’s Section of Mapam has been invited to participate in the congress of the International Democratic Women’s Organization, a Communist-sponsored group, which opens April 30 in Varna, Bulgaria. Although the invitation was unexpected, the Mapam women will send two delegates with full voting power, it was announced today.
Mapam’s political secretary, Naftali Feder, said that coming after years of suspended relations between the international organization and the Mapam women, the invitation doubtlessly has political significance. Mapam is a partner in Israel’s Labor Alignment and is represented in the government.
