Marriage of Kaisers Son to Jewess Reported and Denied

Eitel Friedrich, the second son of former Kaiser Wilhelm, was married to Mrs. Joseph Schwarz, the widow of the late Jewish opera singer, baritone of the Chicago Opera Company.

The bride of the ex-Kaiser’s son is the daughter of Paul Eisenberg, a native of Brunswick, Germany. She was formerly married to Herman Silken, American millionaire coffee merchant. He has been married once before. On his death Joseph Schwartz left his widow an estate said to amount to $5,000,000.

An Associated Press despatch from Baden-Baden, Germany states that Mrs. Sielchen-Schwarz of New York, at her chateau Marin Halden today, denied with the same vigor as six months ago rumors that she had been married to or intended to become the bride of Prince Eitel Friedrich, second son of the former Kaiser. “It is terrible nonsense,” she said, “and most annoying.”

Julius S. Berg, whose statement in the New York press demanding further action in the Massena case was criticized by a reader in a letter to the editor published in the Jewish Daily Bulletin of October 9, delclared in a communication to the Bulletin that he made the statement “not as an individual assuming authority to speak for American Jewry, but as Commander-in-Chief of the Jewish Veterans of the Wars of the Republic.”

He added that he also acted in behalf of the Louis Fleischmann Benevolent Society a Jewish organization of the Bronx which ##ssed a resolution endorsing his opinion that ## resignation of Mayor Hawes be demanded. The Anglo-American Society, an organization of English Jews, passed a resolution at its last regular meeting of more than 110 men, endorsing my action thus far and asking me to continue to press for the resignation of Mayor Hawes,” Mr. Berg wrote.
