MARTIAL LAW IS NOT NECESSARY IN PALESTINE AT THIS TIME IN THE VIEW OF BOTH COLONIAL OFFICE AND MILITARY LEADERS ON THE SPOT, THE HOUSE OF COMMONS WAS INFORMED TODAY.

REPLYING IN WRITING TO A QUESTION BY COL. JOSIAH WEDGWOOD, LABORITE, COLONIAL SECRETARY WILLIAM ORMSBY-GORE SAID HE WAS “ENTIRELY SATISFIED” WITH THE HIGH COMMISSIONER’S USE OF POWERS UNDER THE DEFENSE ORDER IN COUNCIL. HE DECLARED PALESTINE MILITARY LEADERS SHARED HIS VIEW.
