A 30-year-old electrical worker has been indicted by a Prince George’s County Grand Jury for the Jan. 11 bombing of Shaare Tikvah Synagogue in suburban Temple Hills, Maryland. The accused, David V. Maness, was being held in jail in lieu of $16,000 bail. His trial has been set for April 17. The synagogue suffered an estimated $200,000 damage from the blast. It was empty at the time but only because a teen-age dance had been cancelled owing to a flu epidemic. Maness, who is also under indictment for burglary, was arrested after police found explosives and a large quantity of weapons in his home as well as a map pin-pointing the synagogue.
