Indiscriminate mass raids against alien Jews were protested today by a delegation representing social service bodies and the Rabbinate which called upon the Police Prefect of Marseille.
The delegation pointed out that the raids produced a state of nervousness approaching panic among the city’s refugee population, which for the most part was law-abiding, while they failed to make an impression upon the delinquents among them who were usually able to take successful precautions and escape.
The delegation expressed the hope that its protest would bring a halt to the mass roundups of refugees by the police.
