The 1955 Stephen Wise Award of the American Jewish Congress was presented yesterday to Maurice Samuel, author and lecturer, at a reception at Stephen Wise Congress House. For his “significant contributions over three decades” to Jewish education and culture, Mr. Samuel received a bronze plaque and a check for $1,000 from Dr. Israel Goldstein, president of the congress.
