Max J. Schneider, president of the National Safety Bank and Trust Company and prominent in communal affairs was honored by the various organizations with which he has been identified for many years at a dinner on Tuesday evening at the Hotel Commodore.
Tribute to Mr. Schneider was paid by George Z. Medalie, United States Attorney and Republican candidate for United States Senator from New York; Bernard S. Deutsch, independent candidate for the Supreme Court, who is president of the American Jewish Congress; Justice Albert Cohn, Aaron J. Levy, Joseph M. Callahan and John E. McGeehan, Rabbi Herbert S. Goldstein, District Attorney Charles B. McLaughlin and L. K. Roberts, national bank examiner.
Among the organizations under whose auspices the dinner was arranged were : The Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies; the Hebrew Home for Chronic Invalids; the Hebrew Institute of University Heights, the Zionist Organization of America and the Bronx Alliance Club. Lazarus Joseph was general chairman and Mrs. Peter A. Abeles in charge of arrangements.
