Max Spitz, So African Jewish Leader, Leaves U.S. for Tour of European Jewish Communities

Max J. Spitz, South African Jewish leader, and chairman of that country’s Jewish Appeal, left here today for Europe to make a firsthand study of the needs of Europe’s Jewish communities in France, Germany, Poland and Austria. He spent a month in the U.S., conferring with officials of the Joint Distribution Committee and other Jewish organizations. He expects to return home in August.
