May 1st was celebrated in Lodz, the Polish textile center, by a joint demonstration of all labor parties. One hundred of the demonstrants, including sixty Jews, were arrested by the police.
CONHEIM, NATIONAL KEREN HAYESOD TREASURER. DIES
Herman Conheim, national treasurer of the Keren Hayesod, died yesterday morning at the age of 69. He had been ill for the past few weeks.
Mr. Cohheim, who had been a resident of New York for the past forty-five years, came to America from Koenigsburg, East Prussia. He was associated with the Zionist movement since its inception and attended a number of Zionist Congresses. He was prominent in the movement in this country and held the office of treasurer of the United Palestine Appeal as well as that of treasurer of the Keren Hayesod. He was a member of the Administrative Committee of the Zionist Organization of America.
The funeral will be held today from his home, 265 West Ninetieth Street.
