Mayor Edward Koch has proclaimed Tuesday, March 31, Simon Wiesenthal and Charles Kramer Day in New York City. A presentation to the two Nazi-hunters will be made by the may-or at City Hall. That evening an award dinner in their honor will be held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, where both men will be the featured speakers. Wiesenthal has been responsible for bringing hundreds of Nazis to justice. Kramer was responsible many years ago for identifying Archibishop Valerian Trifa as a member of the wartime fascist Rumanian Iron Guard.
