The question of Nazi repression of labor unions in Germany was delicately skirted at the official City Hall reception yesterday to Walter Citrine, secretary of the British Trade Union Congress and a noted anti-Nazi leader. Mr. Citrine arrived yesterday from Montreal en route to the forthcoming convention of the American Federation of Labor at San Francisco.
The plight of labor in the Reich and the war of union labor generally against Fascist domination in Europe will be among the chief topics Mr. Citrine will discuss at the convention, he told reporters. He said that he had definite ideas on the subject but would rather not discuss them in advance of the convention.
Mr. Citrine, however, was less reticent ### expressing his opinion of the Mosley Fascists in England.
Sir Oswald and his followers in England, he said, were not only in a decline but were plunging headlong into oblivion.
