Mayor Hylan, in greeting Rabbi Kook upon his arrival here yesterday, said: “The Jewish population of New York City not only exceeds that of Palestine but is at least one million greater than the total number of Jews that dwelt in Jerusalem before the fall of the Holy City. The City of New York is richer in spirit and more devoted to freedom because of its vast Jewish population.”
