Mayor Hussein Khalidi, Arab mayor of this city, promised the authorities today henceforth to attend every session of the municipal council, thus bringing to an end a municipal crisis precipitated by the absentation of Arab councillors. Mayor Khalidi, together with the Jewish councillors, will constitute the quorum necessary to transact official business.
The authorities permitted construction of a Jewish abbatoir near Mea Shearim, Jewish quarter of Jerusalem, because of repeated attacks on the municipal slaughter house on the outskirts of the city.
